Fringe is the look of the season
We’ve talked before about how the looks of the ’70s are making a comeback this fall, and fringe is one staple of the ’70s that we’re happy is back. There’s no doubt that this look is making waves in the fashion world and there are plenty of ways that you can incorporate it into your wardrobe this fall. Here are a few pointers:
The great thing about a fringe jacket is that it’s an eye-catching piece all on its own, so it’s the ultimate way to spice up a plain outfit. Try a faux suede fringe jacket this fall in a fun color like burnt orange or a more subdued shade like black or camel. Feel free to wear a matching statement necklace or keep it simple with a black tee and your favorite embellished jeans. You’ll get plenty of use out of a fringe jacket in the crisp fall weather!
A dress with a fringe neckline can be dressed up or down for the the season. Wear it with a comfortable pair of flats and a blazer for the office and high heeled boots and a leather jacket to go out in the evening. In a neutral color like beige, you can keep the look simple with other neutral accessories or give it some pizzazz with a brightly colored handbag or a pair of large earrings. If a faux suede dress doesn’t work for the event that you’re looking to dress for, you can go for a sassy flapper style dress with fringe too. Pair that with a long strand of pearls!
There is such a variety of ways that a shirt or blouse can include fringe. The embellishment looks fab along the neckline, on the sleeves or along the bottom. Fringe can give your outfit a boho or Southwestern aesthetic, depending on what else you wear with it. A plain black top can be brought to the next level with some fringe on the sleeves, and a classic asymmetrical T-shirt can be elegant with some fringe along the bottom. Play it up and let the fringe be the focal point of your outfit, or keep it low key by wearing a chic duster over your fringey top.
Don’t sweat it if fringe is a little too wild to incorporate into your main outfit pieces. There are also multiple ways you can keep your love of fringe on the down low by wearing it on your accessories. From knee-high boots to booties, you can always have a little fringe on your shoes. Fringe on your purse is also a great way to channel a bit of a Southwestern vibe without going too far out of your comfort zone. Look for a fun turquoise color!
