Any tips for a good night's sleep?

There's lots of great information to be found online about things you can do to help get a good night's sleep. A couple of our tried-and-true's:

  1. Try to go to bed and get up at the same time every day…even on weekends. Consistency helps regulate your sleep-wake cycle.
  2. Exercise regularly. Regular physical activity, whether it's aerobics, yoga or a nice walk helps you fall asleep faster and sleep better.
  3. Avoid daytime naps. OK, this one is hard, because some of us - especially on the weekends - treasure our naps. We say go ahead and indulge, but keep it to 30 minutes and try and do it mid-afternoon.
  4. Comfortable mattress and pillows. Some people love the soft and cushiony, while others need something more firm. Figure out what works for you and make the worthwhile investment.
  5. Make your bedroom cool, dark and comfortable. Ever notice how hotel rooms always have heavy curtains? People generally sleep better in the dark. White-noise, earplugs and eye covers are also helpful to a lot of us day-time busy ladies.

  • Do not eat big with in 3 hours of bed. Although do not go to bed hungry either. A bath or shower a few hours before bedtime can be relaxing, but if too close to time to lay down you may be overstimulated.
