Power Breakfast

 

We've all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but what you eat is important too. Some experts think that opting for protein—rather than that carb-heavy bagel—is what your body needs to get going and keep your fabulous self fueled until lunch. Here are a few tips to keep your blood sugar up and your metabolism revving:

    Add 2 Tbsp. of wheat germ to your yogurt (1/4-cup of nuts if you're wheat sensitive). Throw in a 1/2-cup of berries for added vitamin C.
  1. Instead of jam or cream cheese, top off your whole wheat toast with almond butter (it's a heart-healthy alternative to peanut butter)
  2. Power up your smoothie with whey protein powder, almond milk and your favorite berries.
